WHAT IT ISLiquid Live Micro-Organisms is a combination of natural, liquid live bacteria strains produced in our own plant by scientific methods for farm, home and commercial use. In the culture are both aerobic and anaerobic strains (those requiring oxygen and those not requiring oxygen). These cultures are NON-PATHOGENIC (non-disease bearing) and NON-TOXIC. They are liquid bacteria that are harmless to animal and marine life.

Liquid Live Micro-Organisms are composed of several strains which have been cultured for compatability, feed on the same media, grow and form into colonies to reproduce themselves. After their incubation period and production cycle they become dormant (go to sleep) and will remain dormant for long periods of time. Then, when introduced into a polluted area, they revive and feed and repeat reproduction while attacking the elements in the water that cause pollution.

Since these are live micro-organisms, they must be seeded (fed) into areas being treated, on a regular established schedule (consult your Tomco Chemical representative for the recommended treatment schedule). In order to replace those that are washed away or die off after doing their job of consuming the materials causing pollution.

NOTE: The micro-organisms in Liquid Micro-Organisms are NOT enzymes or spores.

WHAT IT DOESIt will reduce hydrogen sulfide (H2S), which is a warning signal of pollution. H2S is a gas having a strong, offensive odor, much like that of rotten eggs. During the course of the oxidation of the hydrogen sulfide a conversion takes place, whereas the sulfide is converted into a sulfate and/or sulfur. In bad cases of pollution, hydrogen sulfide gases can be seen bubbling in water. Liquid Live Micro-Organisms will also reduce biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) which is usually the root cause of pollution, while H2S is the evidence of pollution: likewise the bad odor emanating from polluted pond or plant. In the case of septic tanks and grease traps, the efficiency will be increased and the necessity of numerous clean-outs will be reduced.

NOTE: We do not recommend using Liquid Live Micro-Organisms in a tank or pond where operator is using strong alkali, strong acids, chlorine, or other bactericidal products. Where these harmful materials are present, do not use Liquid Live Micro-Organisms until the dilution ratio is great enough so that the beneficial in Liquid Live Micro-Organisms will not be killed. (This does not apply to post-chlorination).

WHERE TO USE ITAny place where there is water pollution.
  • Lagoons and ponds
  • Sewage disposal plants
  • Industrial waste water units
  • Cattle feed lots
  • Swine manure storage pits and lagoons
  • Pulp and paper mill water affluent and holding ponds
  • Oil field slush pits and petroleum waste disposal facilities
  • Septic tanks
  • Grease Traps
